What makes Anekdot products different?Down

Back in 2014, our founder and designer Sofie could not find lingerie that she wanted to wear herself and started to craft pieces on her own. She wanted lingerie made from high quality materials including sexy laces and silks, designed in way to not cut into the skin in uncomfortable places. She wanted lingerie to feel beautiful every day as well as on special occasions. She wanted lingerie that were made in respect to nature and the people sewing them. She wanted that shopping lingerie should feel as exciting as shopping high quality vintage items, that make you feel special.  

After some months of experimenting and crafting for herself, Anekdot was born. A platform where to share her creations to other women around the world, to fill the gap of exciting lingerie made consciously. 

Since 2015 we have been crafting and creating to empower women to wear beautiful lingerie & swimwear that feels good to skin and empower from the inside out without exploiting people and nature.

Materials & Production

How can I find the material composition of the products?Down
If you’ve already purchased one of our beauties, simply check the care label for the material composition. If you’d like to explore this information before making a purchase, you can scroll down on the product page. On the right side under the "Quality & Care" tab, you’ll find all the details about the materials used. For further assistance, feel free to contact our customer care team.
Where are the materials produced?Down

Currently almost all our materials are produced in Italy, as we think their quality and hand-feel is outstanding and we have found partners from whom we can source surplus which helps reduce pre-consumer waste in the supply chain. Besides our Italian partners, we source organic cotton locally in Berlin from a German supplier and we source our hardware from a supplier in France.

What do you mean with upcycling?Down

Transforming waste into luxury, upcycling means that we reclaim our superb materials from fashion industry deadstock, end of lines and off-cuts, turning them into something beautiful and meaningful for your everyday life. We are in perpetual search for new opportunities to source our materials. This could be a closing down factory, maker’s surplus, production errors or miscalculations. The materials we use have never been previously worn, but we thought we’d give them a new chance to be enjoyed. We love to breathe a new life into forgotten textiles which are otherwise destined to landfill, and by doing so, we save emissions in comparison to producing new materials.

Where are the products produced?Down

Anekdot started with a production exclusively in Berlin out of a desire to produce locally and ensure fair working conditions. Since 2019, we have also been working with a manufacturer in Poland to have parts of our collection manufactured there. The manufacturer is only 4 hours away from Berlin and support fair work conditions.

So today Anekdot produces in both Berlin and Poland, which we find is the perfect combination to offer you a wide range of designs as well as custom made pieces.

Sizing & Ordering

Which size should I buy?Down

To determine the best size for you, we recommend checking our size guide, which provides detailed measurements for each size, including bust, waist, and hip measurements. Here’s a quick way to measure yourself:

  1. Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your bust while wearing a bra that fits well.
  2. Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, usually just above the belly button.
  3. Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips, keeping the tape level.

Once you have your measurements, compare them with our size chart to find your perfect fit. Keep in mind that different styles may fit differently, so it's always good to check the specific product details for any fit notes.

Are there differences in fit between the various models?Down

Yes, there can be some differences in fit between our various models, as each design may have unique cuts and styles. Additionally, elastics can have different high stretch levels, which may affect the overall fit. We recommend checking the product descriptions and size guides for specific measurements and fit information for each item. Are there options for personalization or selection of other colors?Down

Yes, we offer options for personalization and color selection on some of our products! You can find available color choices in the product details section. Additionally, we are happy to accommodate special requests, such as selecting a different lace for a specific style or creating a custom-made piece tailored to your size. Please note that personalized items cannot be refunded, returned, or exchanged. Is there a way to check the availability of an item?Down

You can check the availability of items directly on our website. Each product page reflects the current stock levels, so you’ll be able to see if an item is in stock or out of stock in real time. Can I be notified when an out-of-stock item is available again?Down

Yes, you can! If an item is out of stock, simply visit the product page and look for the option to sign up for restock notifications. Enter your email, and we’ll notify you as soon as the item is back in stock. If you need any assistance, feel free to reach out to us at customercare@anekdotboutique.com.

Which payment options are available?Down

We offer secure payments with Paypal, cards, Shop Pay, Google Pay, Klarna Pay Later and Sofort. For international (non German) orders some additional or varied payment methods may be found, depending on your country.

Can I cancel or change my order?Down

Since we ship all orders directly from our own studio we are able to cancel or change your order if you write before it has been shipped. If your order has been shipped already, you will have to wait until receiving it. Should the item(s) not work out, make sure to exchange for a preferred style or return for a refund. You can find your way to our return portals here where you register your exchange/return and can download a return label.

Is there a loyalty program or discounts for returning customers?Down

Yes, we offer a loyalty program for our returning customers!To join the loyalty program, simply click on the "Rewards" button at the bottom right side of our page. By signing up, you can earn points on every purchase, which can be redeemed for discounts on future orders. Additionally, we often share exclusive promotions over our newsletter and discounts with our loyal customers. Shipping & Delivery

We use all major carriers, and local courier partners. You’ll be asked to select standard or express shipping during checkout.

What is the shipping policy?Down

Once your order is placed, you’ll receive a confirmation email letting you know it’s been successfully processed. After your order has been fulfilled, you’ll receive another email with tracking information so you can follow your shipment. Please note that shipping fees are non-refundable in the case of returns.

Shipping costsDown

Shipping costs are based on your country and will be added in checkout. When you order over a certain amount, Free shipping will apply. Please check the announcement bar at the top of the page to find out the minimum order value to receive Free shipping.

How long does it take to receive my order?Down

Delivery times vary based on your location and the chosen shipping method. Typically, orders are processed within a few business days. Standard shipping within Germany usually takes 3 to 7 days, while international orders typically arrive within a week.

If an item is out of stock but can still be ordered, please note that it may take up to 3 weeks to receive handmade items, depending on the workload of our seamstress. For detailed information, please refer to our shipping policy or contact customer care.

How can I track my order?Down

When your order has been shipped, you’ll receive an email with tracking information so you can follow your shipment.

If you didn't receive any email within a week, please contact us at customercare@anekdotboutique.com and we're happy to inform you about your order/shipping status.

Do you ship overseas?Down

Yes, we ship all over the world. Shipping costs will apply if you order under a certain amount (depending on your country), and will be added at checkout. If duties & taxes apply they will be added and shown clearly at checkout.

Exchanges & Returns

Can I exchange my order?Down

Yes, you can exchange your order! Please follow these steps:

  1. Register your exchange via our Returns Portal. If you're outside Germany, use the Global E ReturnsPortal.
  2. Click on "I want to exchange my order" and include a note specifying the item you'd like to receive.
  3. Package the items carefully and include the exchange form.
  4. Send the package to:

Please note that return shipping costs are your responsibility. Exchanges will be sent back to you at no additional shipping charge. We encourage conscious purchasing to reduce environmental impact.

Important: The hygiene stickers and hangtags must remain attached, and the item must be in pristine condition. Returns should be received within 14 business days of your order.

Can I return my order?Down

Yes, you can return your order within 14 working days. To make the return process as smooth as possible, please follow these steps:

  1. Register your return via our returns portal: (https://anekdotboutique.com/apps/returns). Customers from countries outside Germany need to register their return using this link: Global E Returns Portal.
  2. Indicate the reason for your return on the return form.
  3. Carefully package the items and include the return form.
  4. Send the package to the following address:

Please note that the return shipping costs will be your responsibility. Every return has an ecological footprint. Out of love for the environment and to support a more sustainable future, we kindly ask you to make conscious decisions and to avoid returns whenever possible.

Are returns free of charge?Down

At Anekdot Boutique, we prioritize sustainability in everything we do, which extends to our return policy. Returns are not free, as we believe that each return contributes to carbon emissions and impacts the environment. By asking customers to cover return shipping costs, we encourage more mindful purchasing decisions, helping to reduce unnecessary returns and their ecological footprint.

However, we understand that shopping online can sometimes lead to mismatches. For this reason, we offer the option to purchase a prepaid return label for German customers at a cost of €7.50. For customers in other countries, the return label can be bought via the return page of Global E, and the cost will also be deducted from your refund amount once we receive the returned items.

We are committed to providing detailed sizing information and personalized support to help you choose the right items. Every dollar saved from not covering returns goes back into our commitment to sustainable practices, ethical sourcing, and creating quality pieces that last.

What shall I do if I receive a faulty product?Down

We’re sorry to hear that you received a faulty product! To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:

  1. Take a clear picture of the faulty product so we can assess the issue.
  2. Contact our customer care team by sending an email to customercare@anekdotboutique.com, including the picture and a brief description of the problem.

Once we receive your email, we will guide you through the return process to ensure you are taken care of. Thank you for your understanding.

How do I know when my return arrived?Down

If you used a tracked shipment for your return, you can monitor its status directly through the tracking information provided by your shipping carrier.

Additionally, you will receive an email from us as soon as we have received your return.

What happens with returned products?Down

At Anekdot, sustainability is a core value, and we ensure that nothing goes to waste. Returned products in good condition are carefully inspected and sold again. We also change the hygienic stickers to maintain product integrity.

If a returned product is excessively dirty or not in acceptable condition, we do not accept the return and will send it back to the customer.

Garment Care

Caring for your Anekdot correctly is important to ensure longevity and lasting quality. Please follow the below care instructions carefully and attentively. Always take note of the care label in your Anekdot item.

How do I wash my lingerie?Down
  • We only recommend hand washing!
  • Wash light and dark colours separately.
  • We recommend using a gentle all natural or organic, and non-toxic liquid soap or detergent.
  • Avoid rubbing, wringing or twisting your items
  • Do not soak.
  • If you use tapwater if possible rinse clean with fresh spring or filtered water.
  • Sponge dry any excess water with a clean dry towel, lay flat on a towel to dry in the shade only, do not tumble dry.
How do I wash my swimwear?Down
  • Always rinse your Anekdot Swim in clean spring or filtered water after wear.
  • Squeeze water out gently, do not wring or twist.
  • Hand wash in cool water only. Please note, this does not include a delicate or hand wash machine cycle.
  • Wash light and dark colours separately.
  • Use a gentle all natural or organic, and non-toxic liquid soap or detergent.
  • Avoid rubbing and wringing.
  • Lay flat to dry in shade only, do not tumble dry.
How do I wash my loungewear?Down
  • Thoroughly follow specific care instructions on the inside label of the garment. Take note of any extra information on swing tags.
  • We recommend using a gentle all natural or organic, and non-toxic liquid soap or detergent.
  • When ironing is needed, make sure to use a press cloth between the iron and the fabric.
