02.02.2019 | Durham: DUCFS Charity Fashion Show

02.02.2019 | Durham: DUCFS Charity Fashion Show

While Fashion Week was in full swing in February, at Anekdot we decided to focus our energies otherwise. This year we decided to sponsor the Durham University Charity Fashion show, the largest student-led charitable event in the UK.  The support went to The Environmental Justice Foundation, shedding light on issues associated with sustainability in the fashion industry, and thus the impact of this on the environment. Fast fashion, assisted by the current rate of consumerism in today’s society, has created a demand which cannot be sustained. DUCFS aim to raise awareness of these environmental and humanitarian issues while donating the income from the sold tickets, this year ending up in a record-breaking £150,000 (!!) for the Environmental Justice Foundation. Immensely proud!
